PACTALS Seoul 2018

Welcome Message

On behalf of the Pan-Asian Consortium for the Treatment and Research in ALS (PACTALS) and Professor Seung Hyun Kim, it is our great pleasure to invite you to attend the inaugural international conference which will be held in Seoul, Korea on July 20-21, 2018 under the theme “Challenges for Uncovering the Secrets of ALS/MND in Pan-Asian Country”.

While Asia represents more than half of the world population making it host to the largest cohort of ALS patients, knowledge of the disease and key differences between and within Asian populations remains limited. In an effort to achieve improved treatment and drive novel research initiatives across the region, our Asia-Pacific working group of clinicians and researchers known as PACTALS was established in 2014.

With further growth of our consortium, it is now timely to explore and improve knowledge of ALS in Asia. As such, the Scientific Committee of PACTALS has worked to assemble an outstanding Faculty of experts in ALS from around the world, together with clinicians and researchers from across the Asian region. Seoul has been selected as the venue for our first conference, hosted at the famous Olympic venue, where we look forward to welcoming you and generating new knowledge and understanding about ALS.
